Dana Steege and Aaron Jackson came came to Seattle to visit Dana's parents during the holidays. We were able to spend the New Years weekend with them at Dana's parents' cabin in the San Juan Islands. Through the course of the weekend we saw all the sites of Lopez Island ... the coastal spits, coves, and kiwi farms. Dana and Aaron revealed their new passion to us: birding. (Don't tell them, but the only birds we remember seeing were the buffleheads and hooded merganzers.) They had their binos out 24 hours a day. And Ryan discovered his new favorite mammal: the seal. We watched playful seals off a cliff while eating a trail lunch. All in all, a lovely weekend! Thanks guys!
