September. Sigh.

It is hard for us to not to love September. If there weren't crimson sugar maples, the scent of dried fennel, and soups for dinner, it would still be the month of our marriage...

September 4th was our first anniversary. Although we still disagree about our actual anniversary (Ryan says that it is the 4th of September, I say it is the Sunday of Labor Day!), we had a wonderful time celebrating in 2006. First, hanging out with good friends at Kendra and Ryan's wedding (see photo below), and later on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands.

We also had the chance to go camping at Lake Ozette on the Olympic Penninsula a few weeks ago. The brillant sun surprised us; we usually expect clouds on the coast. It was so fun to climb all of the massive driftwood logs and to search the barnacled tidepools for starfish. Mmmmm...It was also a joy to get to know some of our friends better. Lots of Apples to Apples playing and smores.

This week we sent out our first annual Jones-Casey update. If you didn't receive it, it means that we don't have your email address! Please give it to us ASAP!

Here are some photos from September:

We visited with Ryan's parents in Connecticut, and his sister in Boston (do you have a photo to share, Sharon?) before driving down to NYC to see some old friends. We had dinner at Carleigh's.
