Sunny Seattle (at least until September)

Blogging during Seattle's sunny summers is a fruitless effort. There is too much to do outside! So I apologize for leaving you all wondering where we have gone...

In June Ryan and I went home to Duluth for my awesome brother Karis' graduation from high school. Then my friend Wren and I spent a week in the Boundary Waters canoeing through swarms of mosquitoes (photos to come).

Since returning to Seattle, big things have happened. On June 28th, "Refugee ARTvocacy" (a large advocacy event I was planning for work) drew crowds of more than 500 art viewers, and artists who had immigrated from all over the world. Finishing all of that work was a load off of my shoulders.

Aaron Jackson and Dana Steege moved from Chicago, IL to our neighborhood in June. We helped them weed their front lawn...a big endeavor.

Our neighbor Leon has been giving us gardening tips since we met him in November. He plans to get us started with some seeds for his "Chinese vegetables" this fall. We're really enjoying the developing relationships that we have with our neighbors.

And, of course, we're hiking. Who can resist a hike in Seattle's outlying wilderness?

We promise to do a better job of updating our blog. Let us know how you are doing, too. Send us an email, or post a comment on our blog!
